Known as the gateway to the North York Moors, Stokesley is a thriving market town just outside the National Park. It’s high street is lined with impressive Victorian and Georgian buildings housing independent boutiques and cafes. The monthly farmers’ market is great for stocking up on local produce to cook up a feast back at your Beautiful Escape.

Stokesley
Stokesley is a great place to stock up on local produce for your escape away from it all. On the first Saturday of every month you will find the farmers’ market taking over the square in front of the Town Hall. Here you’ll find all you need to whip up a delicious breakfast or evening feast, from free-range duck eggs to brilliant bangers, mouthwatering brownies to fresh, seasonal vegetables. If your visit doesn’t happen to coincide with the market there is also a well stocked fruit and vegetable shop that has been on the high street for generations and a butcher selling excellent, locally reared meat.
The high street also boasts some beautiful boutiques with Croft Interiors just off the high street and The Yorkshire Store a stroll away. If you’re ready for a tasty treat after all that shopping we love Pistachio for a perfect cappuccino and seriously moreish cakes! Or if you’re in need of something stronger, Tru Vai, have an enviable gin selection and a cosy fire to settle down next to, see you there!
